A great contributor to psychoanalysis and a life well lived. I only wish I had had the opportunity to meet and talk with Dr Segal not least about some of her views on homosexuality - about which we would have disagreed and about aesthetics on which we would have agreed.
May she rest in peace.
The obit is well worth reading. Her comments about control of the media seem particularly apt these days.
ReplyDeleteShe wrote an article which gave vivid , terrifying details about my partner, her analysand. All was recognisable. His students recognised the descriptions and informed me. It was devastating to read new never imagined horrors, including passing references to myself . Seemingly psychoanalysts can make their names this way. My own publications
